Our Story
Turning a vision into reality
The story of Erin Living began with a simple, powerful idea. While working in the property industry, Co-founder Thomas saw firsthand the challenges faced by residents in apartment living—challenges he had also experienced personally after years of living in apartments. These frustrations sparked a question: Could technology make residential living more convenient, secure, and connected?
With no background in technology, Thomas approached Anthony, an experienced product strategist and technologist, with a bold question: “Can we build an app to solve this?” The pair immediately began brainstorming what would eventually become the Erin resident app Living. Sitting at Anthony’s kitchen table with paper and pen, they sketched out the initial vision for Erin—a platform that would completely reimagine the way people live in and connect with their residential communities.
Facing challenges head-on
A few months after launching Erin Living Technologies, the Covid-19 pandemic hit. The world shifted to remote working, and so did Erin. The founders had to hire their first team members over Zoom, pitch their vision to potential customers virtually, and even secure investment from investors via remote presentations.
Despite these challenges, the founders remained focused on their mission. Remote collaboration enabled the team to grow, refine Erin’s capabilities, and sign their first customers—all while navigating the uncertainties of a global pandemic. This period proved Erin’s resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to its vision.
The Story Behind the Name
“Erin” originates from the word “errand”
Our original vision for the platform was an app that would help residents run errands—a Marketplace concept for home services like cleaning, maintenance, and more. As we built Erin, we realised that residents wanted so much more than just a Marketplace. They wanted a platform that could manage every aspect of their residential experience. While Erin’s purpose has evolved, the idea of “running errands” remains at the heart of what we do: simplifying life for residents and making everyday living more convenient, secure, and connected.
